So sometimes I forget to do this thing. Oh well.
For those of you who care, we finished our shady bohemian experience at Knox College and are now safely in NY. It's hot and wet. Iew.
We went to the Price Family lakehouse this weekend in Lake Bomoseen, VT. It's about all that you can imagine a place called "Bomoseen" could be. Rustic is the word of choice. I would say dilapidated at best. We slept in "the dugout", a boat garage converted into a cabin with musty horrible beds up in the attic and a dirty, unused kitchen downstairs. Everything reeks of dust, mildew and general filth. Apparently in the Price family there is this issue they have with change. Grandma "Mema" Price (and all her children from what I understand) refuse to change or update anything on these houses because they are exactly in the same condition in which they were found. Momma Price was telling us how over 20 years ago when she married Papa Price and first came to the cabin there were windows and doors broken that have remained broken to this day and you are forbidden to fix them. I don't understand. Apparently Grandma even gets angry if you clean stuff too well there. It is ghetto as all get out. My vote: NO GOOD! The lake was nice, the one day we had sun, which was yesterday. :/
And so now I'm here, in the Price house with nothing to do. I'm jobless because Banana Republic here is being a total pain in the patella and says they can't hire me because blah-blah-blah not until June 18th something-something-blah. Anyways, needless to say I have no job there. I put in an application at American Eagle and I have the group interview tomorrow...hopefully that goes well. And then there is the option of wait staffing or something like that. If this interview doesn't go well tomorrow I'm gonna start looking at restaurants.
My parents just want me to come home. My Dad told me, again, today to do it. He offered to pay for gas and hotels and everything cuz I have a sure fire job at Banana back home. Which is all well and good, but I don't want to go home. So they always make me feel guilty as hell. At least they deposited my reimbursement for my housing deposit so I got $200 off my credit card bill.
So yes. That's my life. I kinda miss the road trip...well the first half anyways. I miss being able to just hang around with Ben and Mikell and not have to worry. Even though it would be nice to have more money, that requires work and I hate work. Oh well. I'm resolved to be here this summer and not give in to my parents control over me. I hope this all goes well.
That's all for now. Over and out.

Still in Illinois
So today Rachael went to Chicago and so Mikell and I played in Galesburg all by ourselves. I know what you're thinking, "How can we afford Galesburg? Especially during the busy season?" Hahaha...
So anyways, we hung around here doing...nothing. But that's ok, we're used to it. I'm blogging right now because we are about to go out. One of Rachael's friends turns 21 today and so we are the designated walkers. I'd say drivers, but we aren't driving, so we are going to make everyone hold hands as we walk from bar to bar keeping them from falling into oncoming traffic. I think it will be a good time. Bar hopping with belligerent, drunken lesbians. What part about this plan is bad? I'm pumped. Ill be sure to post tomorrow on the happenings of the evening. We plan to be bar-hopping until 4:30 when the bakery opens and then going to get donuts. So this sounds like a good plan, right? I'm stoked.

Road Trip '08 - Galesburg, IL
So I lost count of what day we're on...so...oh well.
We left Farmington yesterday just before 10 AM. Not gonna lie, I was WAY sad saying goodbye to Ben, but then again I've always been TERRIBLE with goodbyes. I cried a little as we got in the car but nothing after that, which I consider an improvement., because I leak at everything. But, we bid Benny farewell and got on the road headed towards Nauvoo, IL.
Mikell was not pleased at all to go to Nauvoo, I however, was stoked. It was hokey and dinky Church history stuff but I enjoyed it. I'd never been there before and it was neat to see. We had dinner in the Hotel Nauvoo at the most scrumptious buffet I've had in a while. It was SO good. And then get left Nauvoo and arrived at Rachael's house in Galesbug, IL right next to Knox College.
Galesburg is...special. It's teenier than Farmington by A LOT! And everyone here is an uber-active liberal lesbian feminist. It's a little much to handle. But Rachael is AMAZING! I love her with all my heart and soul! So last night we ended up at some girls house and then at a shady, ghetto as all get-out diner called "The Broadview". There is no Denny's. This place makes Denny's look like Wolfgang Pucks. It was gross.
So basically that's the story. Everything smells like cats here because she has two and they are ridculous and they climb on everything and make Mikell die because she is allergic.
And that's about it.

Road Trip '08 - Day 19
So today we were supposed to go to the St. Louis zoo, but it's all stormy and gross in St. Louis so we didn't go. We hung around Farmington again. We went to the seediest looking Chinese restaurant EVER called China Buffet but it was actually really good. It was only like 6 bucks and all you can eat. I looked SOOO shady from the outside but it wasn't bad. Then we just hung around while it rained and such and we ended up at Steak 'n' Shake again with Tasha, who is freaking FANTASTIC. After a few hours they we came back to the Wright residence, jumped on the trampoline, ate some food and watched TV. It was another nice relaxing day before another leg of our road trip.
I'm kinda bummed because it's our last day of our road trip with Ben. It's gonna be weird but we have been together a ton! It's sad, but I think we will see each other again, at least I hope so. We'll see.

Road Trip '08 - Day 18
Monday, May 12 - We hung around Farmington and it was A GORGEOUS day outside. Warm and green and with a slight breeze. We went to the family restaurant "The Branding Iron" for lunch, took a tour of Farmington, went to the snow cone hut (which is really called "Tropical Snow" but that doesn't negate the fact that is IS a snow cone hut). We then came back and, the highlight of my trip, we jumped on his trampoline all afternoon. I love the trampoline! Like way too much for a 21 year old. But that was awesome. Ben's parents took us to a fantastic place where we had something called "frozen custard" which sounds weird, but isn't at all. It's really creamy softserve! It did need sprinkles however. But yes. Then we went to a place called "Steak 'n' Shake" with some of Ben's friends. We sat for like 3 hours just talking and making new friends. It was nice. Generally speaking Monday was a REALLY nice day. We ended up at a local park and then at Wal-mart and got home at 2 AM. I loved yesterday!
Road Trip '08 - Day 17
Sunday, May 11 - Ben and I went to church with his family. Mikell slept. We made a mother's day dinner for his mom and his whole family came over. It was awkward for us, but whatever. They were so super nice and they are really close knit. We didn't do anything this day. Except we did go to a park to meet Ben's best friends Timmy and Chris. They were pretty cool. We went birdwatching...? Something like that. Anywho, that was our day.
Road Trip '08 - Day 16
Saturday, May 10 - We left Lincoln around 11:00 and made our way all the way to Farmington. We made some interesting stops. One of which was in Kansas City, MO which apparently has no public restrooms. Ben needed to pee like a racehorse and we couldn't find a bathroom ANYWHERE. And we learned you can't wear a hood into the gas station. Go figure. Finally we found a way shady KFC and they could use the bathroom. But I have no intention of returning to Kansas City any time soon. We got to Ben's house around 7:45 that night and I haven't seen Ben that pumped in a while. He surprise his parents because they thought he was coming home on Sunday. It was nice. Only I got banished to the frozen basement to sleep cuz I don't know why. It's so cold and lame down there. Oh well.
